Matthias Brown - Artist Interview Series - Electric Objects

Matthias Brown

New York, NY

Matthias creates his perfectly-imperfect animations by hand drawing every frame from live action footage, a century old technique called rotoscoping. By bringing them online through GIFs and MOVs, he produces digital objects that embrace the smudges and imperfections of handmade creations.

Check out more of his work in Open Eyes and Open Ears, curated by Ghostly.
